Well for those of you who have been paying attention to my blog you would have noticed that it hasn't changed in over a year now lol. I am not good at this "blogging" thing.
The Royal Army of Comstocke has gone through several transformations since my last post and I am most pleased with how we have evolved. At the end of last year, we had a group split which left us wounded but within a very short time we mended and multiplied.
It is in my honest opinion that you must always stay positive, no matter what hardships you may face. That is exactly what I did during this hard time. One day I had a strong group that was ready to grow, the next they were all gone.
My true members stuck by me and helped plan for a complete restructuring of the organization. Apparently, it wasn't lack of organization that caused the group to not grow, it was the type of leadership we had. Now, though I am the main leader, we have what we call "The Royal Council" which helps me make all decisions.
We were holding ourselves back and we didn't even know it. Well with some new roadblocks now out of the way it allowed the creativity to flood the spectrum and new members and ideas began popping up everywhere.
In January we set a goal of having 50 members in the group by the end of the year. At our kickoff meeting in February, we had a full house with over 30 people standing there eager to get started. Every single one signed and application and have began their training. With our returning veterans and new members it put us up to a whopping 50+ members in less than a months time!
The Royal Council was in shock and was beaming with pride in our organization and members. I must say I had never been more proud of the group then at that moment. We have had some incredible additions who have already had the chance to prove themselves and outdone themselves to help better the organization.
We are currently in the process of building our workshop where we will begin creating our own goods which hopefully within the next year you will see TRAOC in a completely new way on the battlefield.
We have a complete Royal Court with brand new characters including myself. My wife and I decided that it was time to claim our place in history and so as of this year I have began portraying the role of King Henry VIII and my wife portrays Queen Jane Seymour and of course my 5 month old baby girl portrays Princess Elizabeth Tudor.
Well I suppose I could write a book about the rest that has happened but I will save that for another day. Thanks for reading! See you at the FESTIVAL! :)
